3rd Placement Poster Competition
Jaarbeurs Utrecht
2025

With this poster i won the 3rd place of the annual Jaarbeurs competition. The goal was to combine the diversity, modernity and history of the city Utrecht. I chose a wide variety of bright colors to depict the diverse and modern part, along with the letters of "UTRECHT" flowing over in eachother. The shape in the background is the canal belt of the city its centre.

Amplified, The Sound
Magazine

During this project we were guided by one of the directors of the MacGuffin magazine, a magazine that picks one certain object or thing as the common thread of the relevant publication. The assignment was to create your own version.

The thing chosen was "Sound", with the goal to visualize sound, since its everywhere yet we cannot see it. With the themes; The sound of nature, The sound of physics, The sound in use and The sound of culture, the magazine investigates all the different ways sound is visualized in the world around us.

With elements like the color gradient and the page numbers the magazine already made its own visualization of two parts of sound; intensity and frequency (Decibel and Hertz).

The goal of the coverart was to tell the story of the song in one image. The story is about becoming the best verison of yourself through hard work. The artwork depicts an individual who is studying, working hard, watching over the distracting and pulling force of the desert in front of it.

The process also builds upon the story. With the use of mixed media techniques, the marks of cutting edges in paper for example, also tells the story of doing it yourself, with your own hands.

Coding Booklet

This booklet is a collection of all the results of experiments inside the coding program called "Processing". Inspired by the work of the dutch graphic designer Karel Martens,
I also decided to create pages full of unique patterns.

Like most of my booklets they are bound by thread. in this case the orange color compliments the flashy colors of the inside.

An experimental poster series. With this series i tried to make order out of chaos. Between a lot of layering, complimentary colors and complex shapes, there is still a form of structure.

Butterfly Font
Leparello
2025

The Butterfly Font started as a small experiment with my microscope. I put a butterfly wing under the microscope and made a picture of it. Through some experimenting in Photoshop I ended up with interesting shapes that looked like letters and I made a font out of it.

As a product i made a leparello with it, showing some different sizes, spacing and the process. The shape of the leparello is also based on the butterfly wing, matching with the odd shapes of the font.
